Maximise Men’s Event
On Friday, 26 March, 32 men from City Hill gathered together at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel for the
inaugural Maximise Men’s Event. They gathered to hear six speakers share on the theme of ‘Maximising
our identity in Christ’.
We started with a blessed time of worship, and it was wonderful to see the men soaking fully in the
presence of the Lord. Fusi welcomed the men and cast the vision about how he would like to see more
men raise their profile in church ministry. Kevin Lim kicked off the first series of speakers, on the topic
of ‘Who Are We + Who Can We Be”. He spoke about our identity in Christ and our potential for spiritual
growth through discipleship. He spoke about experiencing adversity in his life and the importance of
spiritual fathers.
Next, Eapen Matthew shared about integrity. He gave practical tips on how to live a life of integrity, and
presented Biblical examples of men in the Bible who exercised integrity in their lives. The third speaker,
Simon Chan, shared on the importance of experiencing our Heavenly Father’s love.
After a break, Jerry Elvey spoke about self control. His interactive session involved asking audience
members for advice and biblical references about how to resist temptation. Following on from this, Bon
Lorbes spoke about humility and having confidence in God’s judgement. Last but not least, Germán
Gómez walked us through a heartfelt testimony about his life in Colombia, and how God looked after
him through all his struggles.
Finally we had a time of pray and ministry. God definitely moved powerfully among us men, and lives
were touched. We look forward to our next Maximise Men’s Event!
